Goodreads asked Marc Swift:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Marc Swift If I get away from my writing for whatever reason and time goes by then there's a distance and that feels like writer's block for me. The truth is it's more stretched out then blocked. Getting back into reading what I wrote really helps. I Feel The Wonder of it all again and the excitement and the reason I wrote to start with. That helps me get back into the flow.
If it is a certain Passage that I can't seem to write I say to myself, "When one door closes, another one opens." I usually end up working on another part of the book. By the time I am done, I am very grateful that I was 'blocked,' because I wrote something really good that needed to be there in that spot.
