Rena
Rena asked Melanie Dickerson:

Ms. Dickerson, I was wondering if you knew why The Golden Braid was published as hardback when all the others are paperback? And when is the paperback version coming out? Thanks :D

Melanie Dickerson Hi, Rena! Thanks for asking! The reason it's published as a hardcover is that my publisher is able to get it into more stores and get better placement for it, as a Young Adult book if it's published in hardcover. (I don't understand all the details of why, and it's complicated to explain what I do understand about it! If that makes sense.) And my publisher has decided it would not make much sense to release it in paperback now, especially since it would essentially be sold at the same price as the hardcover and would not be desirable for stores to stock at this point. So for the success of my titles, and to keep me being able to write and publish books, this is what seems best for my YA books--to be published in hardcover only.
