How did you come up with the country names Carthya, Gelyn, Bymar, Mendenwal and Avenia?

Jennifer A. Nielsen Hi Luke! For place names, I just combine the sounds of different letters until it feels like a real word. Once I've come up with one name, I have a rule for the next, that it must have a different number of syllables or start with a different letter. That helps each word to sound different than the one before it.
