k-bookee asked Gail Carriger:

Hi Ms. Carriger, it's me again. I was reading Changeless when I became curious of werewolf transformations... What is the difference between full moon transformations from regular ones? Why does it seem more painful? Is it true that not all werewolves can transform without the full moon? Are werewolves always on all fours? Can they also turn into wolf-humanoids like in the Van Helsing Movie? ^^

Gail Carriger What is the difference between full moon transformations from regular ones?
Full moon is forced. No one can resist it. Younger werewolves will often all be forced a few nights before and after. The older the werewolf the better at resisting the moon, but no one can resist full moon.

Why does it seem more painful?
Likely because they try to fight it. It's the old "just relax" adage.

Is it true that not all werewolves can transform without the full moon?
No. Quite the opposite, see above.

Are werewolves always on all fours?
Yes. My werewolves look and act very like super large wolves when they are transformed. (As opposed to the Underworld style of monster.)

Can they also turn into wolf-humanoids like in the Van Helsing Movie?
No. The only bipedal option is a true breeding Alpha's Anubis form.
