Horror for Newbies

I'm thinking about trying the Sword of Truth series, and I'm wondering if I should start with The First Confessor, or with Wizard's First Rule. What does the Goodreads community suggest?

Oddly enough, I first read Chainfire because I found it in a charity shop and thought it looked like my kind of book. I enjoyed it so much that I looked up Terry Goodkind and started collecting all the other books in the Sword of Truth series.

I'm sure that if I had started with Wizard's First Rule, I would have gone on to read the whole series. (less)
