I know Age of Myth isn't even released yet, but I got to read an advanced copy (loved it!) and I was wondering when Age of Swords will be out? You've got me hooked - I can't wait!

Hey Sam, thanks for reading the early copy. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Timing for the other books is a bit tricky. Here's why. I wrote all the books before letting Del Rey see the first one. (Unconventional but it makes it so I can make the most cohesive book...plus I can weave threads throughout. Anyway, after I get done writing, Robin, my wife, reads them and always has really good suggestions on making them better. Book #2 and #3 had relatively little that needed changed but book #4 and book #5 were written much quicker than the others and did need quite a bit of restructuring.
So, what I've been spending quite a bit of time on is editing the books so that I have them all aligned with the changes. Right now I'm in book #5 and should be done with that sometime in June.
The publisher hasn't seen book #2 yet. Robin needs to read the revised version and hold a beta test for it. Which I think will happen in early June. After the beta read is completed is when the publisher will get the book. They really can't schedule the book until they have a copy of it.
The good news is that although there has been a pretty long period between showing the publisher book #1 and #2, getting them #3 - #5 will go really quickly because of a year's worth of work I've been doing on them.
If I were to make a guess, I'd say book #2 will come out 10 - 12 months after the first book. But that is just a guess based on what I know regarding when a book goes to the publisher and how much time they need to produce the final result.
I know that's not exactly a definitive answer. But it's the best I can do at this time. I'll update this answer as I learn more. Thanks again for reading - and I'm glad you enjoyed Age of Myth.

Hey Michael, I absolutely loved your books and have gotten my friends/family to read them as well. I was wondering how you go about writing such strong female characters. Arista is probably my favorite female in any book I've read lately, and Thrace is pretty awesome herself. I recently finished writing my first book and any help would be appreciated, as I go through editing.
