(view spoiler)[In Hollow World I found Ellis Roger's struggle with sexuality and same sex relationships really fascinating. After reading Riyria and not noticing many similar undertones I was a little caught off guard and excited to see you approach an important social issue in your writing. Could you speak about what informed your decision to approach this or specific issue? (hide spoiler)]

Well much of my opinions on the subject was formed long before this, but one of my children isn't entirely sure about their own sexual orientation. For them its more of a lack of interest in sex with either gender then anything else. But in any case, for one reason or another they have a lot of homosexual friends and one who is transgender. I was struck by a comment made by the father of a friend...and I actually wrote the line in my book but my wife edited it out thinking it was too harsh...but this person's father actually said the following when his son came out of the closet. "You know, if you had done something terrible like murder I could get over it...but this...I can't." That's not the exact line but pretty darn close. I see a lot of heartaches from the various friends who are having difficulties with family members that can't accept the news and I'm sure that played a part.

Thanks, Michael for persisting to become not just an author but the best selling writer in your genre. I have listened to all of the Ryira Chronicles and now am listening to Winters Daughter. I listened to your office notes. Your struggles to write have paid off. Congratulations to you and Robin. You inspire me. What should I read next in your series of books?

Do you have a timeline for the new series (Arrow of Death (The Rise and Fall Book #1)) as of yet?
