Hi Sarah. I'm asking this question of several writers, some friends, some strangers... Do you consider your writing process a "spiritual" practice? If yes, what makes it so? If no, why not? What, in your mind, either qualifies or disqualifies writing as a spiritual practice? Please feel free to either share concrete personal views on this, or approach it as a concept apart from you. Sorry for the late reply. These questions fell through the Goodreads cracks. Anyway, excellent question. I've often thought of my writing process as spiritual. I hardly ever take credit for my writing or my ideas. I do think of myself as channeling stories from a source of sorts. Yes, I take inspiration from examples in my life, but too many times things have occurred and I have no idea where they came from. Too many times I've been stunned by how stories weaved together and not through one book but through several. It's a too mysterious of a process for me not to think there's a spiritual component. Anyway, what are your thoughts on the questions?
