Ferra asked Sarah Noffke:

Hello. I've been trying for AGESfor wrote my own book. So far, I've started a book called Shallow Waters, yet I have no clue what to add in it. My idea is sort of like a ghost love story. Do you have any tips or ideas to help me? It would be great if you could help. :)

Sarah Noffke Hi Ferra! Thanks for the question and congrats on starting a book. I'm happy to help. I love ghosts and love stories. Let me ask you, have you tried writing an outline to see if you know where your story is going to go? Some writers don't outline, but it's a good technique if you're worried that you don' t have a complete story. Also, I always start with a character list. I name them, give them physical descriptions and describe their personality. My books are all character driven so once I put them on the page they start telling me the story. Sounds weird, I know, but it works. If outlining isn't your style then you could just try jotting down a few ideas of what you think is going to happen in the book. Then just start writing. Even if it doesn't pan out it will give you practice. I have a few books I never finished, but writing them made me a better writer. I hope this helps and I'm happy to answer other questions.
