How did get the idea for Nic's personality?

Jennifer A. Nielsen Hmm...his personality? I dunno. As I started to listen for his voice, that personality is what came to me. When I'm creating characters, I might create facts about them their background, their conflicts, their secrets. From those details, a personality naturally emerges.
