I've gotten more focused over the years, honing my craft. Early copies of Snowberry's Veil are very rough and have significant problems with timeline and even a horse that disappears without explanation.
Most of my experience with writing came from running role playing games for decades - inventing stories with others on the fly with a skeleton of a plot - and I have learned quite a bit from those experiences and preparing games.

People tend to shy away from historical fiction because they think its like a documentary. I try to let the world know it has events yes but the fictional story line can be anything...thrilling, fantasy, mystery, murder etc. How do you promote historical/fiction? what do you like about it?
