I'm in the middle of trying to write my first novel. The hardest thing I'm finding is choosing character names. How do you decide on the right ones?

Mary Kubica Names can be tricky! Personally, I like a combination of modern and traditional, and rely on websites like this one (https://www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/) to help determine what names would have been popular for a certain generation. Sometimes I end up switching names partway through because a certain name doesn't seem to fit the character right. For my third novel, Don't You Cry, I've borrowed my kids' middle names - Quinn and Alex - though that's the first time I've drawn from something personal to me. Good luck!
