Goodreads asked Nerine Dorman:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Nerine Dorman There are times when I simply can't write. I admit it. This is usually when my work pressures are too heavy or I'm sad or something has happened to make it difficult for me to focus. When that happens, I'm kind to myself. If I need to rest, I rest. I play games, watch films or read books that inspire me. I make an effort to do something that's different from my routine. Sometimes, all I can manage is a page a day. Or hells, let's face it, sometimes merely a 100 words a day. But I try to write a little bit every day, even if I'm not feeling it. The point is I try, and that's what's important. Those little bursts of writing *do* add up. Being an author is not a race. It's a calling.
