Hi Mary, I enjoy reading your books and look forward to reading your next one. I was wondering what inspires you to write and what book or author inspired you to start writing for a living?

Mary Kubica I've been writing since I was a little girl, and my characters themselves and their inner struggles and demons are often the inspiration for my novels. I can't think of one book that inspired me to write, but Anita Shreve's The Last Time We Met has an AMAZING surprise ending that left me truly awestruck and has inspired me to try and create surprise endings in my novels.
