For me Six of Crows was full of genuine human characters, compared to the under-developed cardboard characters of the latter. The book has received a lot of love though, so you may like it! Just don't look for emotional realism in Angry Planet, which Crows has in spades! P.S. I love Firefly because the characters seem real, so I only see very superficial similarities to Angry Planet (they are both set on junky spaceships is the only similarity I can see) ...(less)
