Hi Elise, Congrats on the release of Water's Wrath! I can't wait to start reading it. In your newsletter, you mention your aggressive publication schedule. I understand you're self-published (just another great series some trad publishers/agents are probably wishing they hadn't passed on ;) So is your schedule self-induced, or have you secured an agent/publisher now?

It was such an exciting process to bring Water's Wrath to publication! (Spoiler, it may be my personal favorite) You are correct that I am self (or indie as I'll often say) published for the Air Awakens series. As a result I can set my own timelines and I'm not gated by certain things that make the process of bringing a book to market lengthy.
I write on such an aggressive schedule for a few reasons. The first is that the Air Awakens series was entirely finished in early 2014 and I'd begun working on it back in 2013. So even though my schedule is aggressive, the books have been 100% finished and I've been thinking about and developing the world for a few years now. Certainly, there's been lots of rewrites, but those are easier (and much faster) when you know exactly what needs to happen. So I felt like I could maintain this schedule without being at a risk of sacrificing story quality.
Furthermore... I know from a reader's side how long a year or more feels between books (basically forever) and there's nothing more disappointing to me than realizing I've disconnected with characters while waiting for the next installment in a story. Since I could publish them faster without fearing for the story I wanted to tell, I wanted to do so for my readers.
I hope this clears things up, and thanks so much for supporting my work!
