Hi Jeff, I am absolutely MOVED by the life of Robert Peace and in my opinion, his name will live on because of you. Your book may very well save a lot of lives or "wake up" those that may be in a similar situation. Robert Peace did not die in vain and perhaps God put him on earth for those to learn from his mistakes. My heart breaks for Jackie. Is she still living in Newark. Is there a way to reach her, via email?

Hello and thank you very much for reading and responding to Rob's story, and reaching out with such kind sentiments. It means an awful lot, for real. I'm sorry for the years-long delay in responding to this--I really don't spend time on social websites but am trying to be better as my next book, Show Them You're Good, comes out in August, about young men finishing high school in different neighborhoods and aspiring for college. Jackie is still in Newark, in her home. She is doing well, though this is a really sad time for her as Rob's birthday was yesterday -- he would have been turning 40. She retired a few years ago but still works part time and also helps with food service in the school district. I'm afraid I can't share her email. I hope you understand. Wishing you all the best, sincerely, Jeff

Dear Jeff, Thank you for your excellent book on Robert Peace. I must say I felt profoundly impacted by the tragic story of Peace. It made me thinking about the root course of the Black Americans' predicament. I wrote a review on Goodreads. I thought I might just share it with you: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/6780953123?book_show_action=false. Regards Yili Zhu from Australia

Hi Jeff, thank you for this beautiful book about your friend Robert Peace - his story was as sad as it was gripping and you told it with grace. I felt a certain hopelessness throughout it though ... It is incredibly hard to escape your past, your beginnings, no matter ones intelligence and determination. Take care, Rachael ?

I loved your book. Do you think that Robert Peace's father was wrongly convicted? The way you portrayed him did not sync with a person who would engage in such a violent act, yet it seems improbable that the gun would have been stolen from his apartment and then returned to his apartment. Do you have any opinion on his guilt or innocence?
