Hi Jeff, I am absolutely MOVED by the life of Robert Peace and in my opinion, his name will live on because of you. Your book may very well save a lot of lives or "wake up" those that may be in a similar situation. Robert Peace did not die in vain and perhaps God put him on earth for those to learn from his mistakes. My heart breaks for Jackie. Is she still living in Newark. Is there a way to reach her, via email?
Jeff Hobbs
Hello and thank you very much for reading and responding to Rob's story, and reaching out with such kind sentiments. It means an awful lot, for real. I'm sorry for the years-long delay in responding to this--I really don't spend time on social websites but am trying to be better as my next book, Show Them You're Good, comes out in August, about young men finishing high school in different neighborhoods and aspiring for college. Jackie is still in Newark, in her home. She is doing well, though this is a really sad time for her as Rob's birthday was yesterday -- he would have been turning 40. She retired a few years ago but still works part time and also helps with food service in the school district. I'm afraid I can't share her email. I hope you understand. Wishing you all the best, sincerely, Jeff

Jeff Hobbs:
I apologize this is not a question, but after reading your book I just have to thank you. I am a college student, a broke one at that when I bought your book. I just wanted to acknowledge like many others the dedication it took to write this book and also the courage you had to have on making this your second book. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this wonderful story with the world. Are you writing another?

Just wanted to say that your book is phenomenal, and I was deeply impressed by the thousands of hours you must have put in to be able to draw such a complete portrait of this man. I hope you write more non-fiction, if you find another subject that inspires this passion. Thanks also for a glimpse of a side of Yale (a minority-heavy side) that I never saw. Goodreads requires question marks, so here's mine?

Hi Jeff, I just wanted to let you know that I read The Short Tragic Life of Robert Peace three years ago now, and I am still talking about it. In fact, I am currently interviewing for medical schools, and I have brought this book up as one of the most important and impactful books I have ever read. Thank you for impacting my life with this book. And for following my reviews on Goodreads!?
