Harrison Webster
Harrison Webster asked Peter V. Brett:

Hi Peter, I thoroughly enjoyed 'The Painted Man' and look forward to reading the rest in the saga. What would you say is the best way to plan out a novel before writing, do you have any hints? Thank you

Peter V. Brett The answer to this question is different for everyone. Some people plan only a few key things, like signposts, and then go where the story takes them. Some don't even plan that much.

Personally, though, I plan the hell out of a story. My outlines are 150-200 pages before I even start writing. I don't like being surprised along the way.
