Cait-Elise asked Charlaine Harris:

Hello Charlaine! I am currently on the 10th Sookie Stackhouse book (or my Sookie Bookies as I like to call them), and of course, I'm still loving the series. How do you come up with all of your different characters' names? Not just in this series, but in all of your books. How do you determine what your people will be called? Are there ever any hidden meanings? Keep up the wonderful work! :)

Charlaine Harris I try to pick names carefully. I've written so many books, sometimes I reuse a name, but mostly I try to be sure I don't have a lot of characters whose names begin with the same letter (that's confusing for the reader). I also try to make names reflect the background of the character. And most of all, I try to pick the right name because it will be used for that character as long as I write about him/her. The name has to fit the person.
