Hi Jessica! I'm reading Fridays with the Wizard and this is confusing me: I always thought Lilah was older than Celie, especially since Lilah [spoilers removed]. But on p. 34 it says that Celie is second in line for the throne, with Lilah after her. Why is that? (Apologies if it's explained in an earlier book and I've just forgotten it!) Also, about how old is Celie supposed to be?

Jessica Day George So the Castle chooses the order of succession, and there's always just sort of been an expectation that Lilah would marry someone from a foreign country, for the sake of politics, anyway. By the time we have gotten to Fridays, I think Celie should be getting close to her 13th birthday, though to be honest I have never sat down and figured out her birthday and when precisely each book occurs.
