I love Mark of The Theif. The chapters always end at a cliffhanger and makes me want to read more. How did you think to write this book? What inspired you to write this story? It is a really good book to read.

Jennifer A. Nielsen Thanks, Henry. The book came out of a true fact of history - Julius Caesar claiming to have descended from Venus. I started thinking about what if he was telling the truth? That led me to Nic's story and the bulla and the idea of a magical alternate history of Rome.

I hope you'll check out the second book of the series, Rise of the Wolf. That book takes Nic to the chariot races and is even more dangerous!
