Hello Ms. McMann. I love your writing so much. I'm really excited for Island of Dragons. I was wondering where you got the idea for Artimé?

Lisa McMann The magical aspects of Artimé were inspired by C.S. Lewis's Narnia series. The physical layout of the mansion, fountains, jungle, sea, etc, were inspired by a real place on the shore of Lake Michigan, once called Getz Farm, which was a privately owned zoo in the early 1900s. You can google it if you like.

Hello, I read The Unwanteds books, and I can't help but wonder: Are the islands somewhere around Australia? I guessed that because there are many small islands around the big island. I'm guessing the big island would be Australia. Also, drop bears (which are said to be found in Australia) have always lived on the islands. PS- Don't feel obliged to answer! I wouldn't want you to spoil anything...
