I am halfway thru this book and still cannot get a 'grip' on the ages of Connie (okay deceased now), Rose and Enigma. Enigma is a grandma and Connie & Rose are her stepmothers???? ... guess I just wasn't concentrating enough in the beginning during character development???

Teri Sweatman Connie (eldest of the 2) and Rose are 15-17 years older than Enigma. They raised her. I would say Enigma was probably in her 70's and Connie and Rose are in their 90's. In one chapter Sophie speaks of swimming in ice cold water with Rose who is 90. I would double check, but I already gave the book away(less)
