Christine Lindsay
Christine Lindsay asked Elaine Stock:

Writing a romance about the rescue of people from a cult is so fascinating to me. Why did you choose this plot line?

Elaine Stock I'm fascinated by the manipulative power and persuasion society and culture have over people. Its scary watching a person pushed by the tide of fleeting passions over that fine line of self-constraints to become a society people-pleaser in an attempt to gain approval, status, or in the means of survival--a home, food, and a resemblance of family and friends.

For example, in novels, this topic has been explored on the level of WW II stories, on both the victim side as well as the enemy side. I wanted to explore the vulnerability of American young adults, desperate for love, family, and making a home and "happily ever after" for themselves.
