When you write, are you in your head 'telling' the words to someone? Who? Or what are that person's characteristics?

While performing stand up comedy, I become many characters on stage, to tell my stories. I guess it is the same with the book. I try to become the character when he or she speaks/thinks in the book. Great questions Rajesh! Thank you.
