Hi Ruta! I have a question: How long did it take you to write your books? I'm asking because I'm currently writing a short story and I'm considering turning it into a full-out YA novel, but I'm not sure whether I should or not because I'm pretty busy with school and such. Also, what was your favorite book to write? Thanks in advance! Hugs!

Hi Nicole!
I was so happy to hear that you're writing a short story. Congratulations!!
It takes me three to four years to research and write each book. I know that probably seems like a long time, but I enjoy the process so much and the time seems to go quickly.
It's so hard to choose just one of my books as a favorite, but I did love writing "Out of the Easy." That book was a true joy to create.
Thanks for asking!

I have read your book & I'm not kidding I fell apart when Lina's mom dies, she was such a image of kindness & utter love. And the epilogue HOW GREAT!!! I'd like to know if you're gonna make another book about this, I mean what happens when they go back to their country. And how Lina found Andrius, I'm craving. There is gonna be another book?

Hi Ruta! I've read your book ''Between shades of grey'' and i´m impressed, you've become one of my favorite authors and i have so many questions about the book, for example: How did Lina get thruogh life after all the things she lived? And... Andrius mom still alive when Lina found them? P.S: I'm from México, so... sorry if i have mistakes. Will you visit México soon? I'm a big fan and i'd love to see you.

I just read "Salt to the Sea" and loved it. It was an interesting look at part of the world I didn't know much about. I want to know more about the inspiration for Hannelore's character. Can we assume she's dead? Can we assume something horrific happened between her and Frick? At some point I even thought Hannelore may have been Frick's mother. She is just so mysterious! What did you want to achieve with her character
