"Ruta" is a small green "rue" flower. Some Lithuanian Americans named Ruta have gone by Ruth. Some things that are quintessentially Lithuanian are:

• Amber jewelry
• Sakotis (tree cake)
• Lithuanian folk dancing
• Wood carving
• Juosta (traditional Lithuanian woven sash)
• Lots of delicious potato recipes
