Thank you so much! I don't yet have a sequel or companion finished for "Out of the Easy" but I definitely have one in mind. I would love to continue the journey of the characters. They're very much "alive" to me. :)

Hi Ruta! I just finished Salt to the Sea and I thought the end was very thought provoking and discussion worthy (which I love). I was wondering when did you first know that you wanted to be a writer? How long did it take you to write each book? I think you are a powerful writer and have inspired me to write more often. I struggle a lot with developing strong characters (especially names). Do you have any tips? Thanks!

For our school reader, we had to read between shades of gray. I finished it because it was so intriguing. The vivid imagery was amazing! May I ask, why did you include a first-love romantic element in it? What inspired you to write it in? Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
