Hi Ruta! I'm from Lithuania and I really enjoyed your book "Between Shades of Gray"!It has been a month or two since I read it and I have already recommended it to all of my girlfriends who loved it as much as I did. In Lithuanian class we have to write essays on certain topics and I swear I've talked about your book at least 3 times! So how much time did it take to for you write "Salt to the Sea" including reasearch?

Hi Ruta! I just recently finished Salt to the Sea and I have to say, it was really amazing. I loved how all the characters felt so real, and I could tell there was a lot of thought put into the story. Anyway, I would like to know what motivated you to become a writer? Also, do you have any favorite authors or books that you loved growing up?

Hi Ruta! Since your novels are based on real events I know you have researched a lot in order to write them. Has anything you ever read or learned while researching -like a testimony from a survivor- changed you personally or changed the way you did something in your life? Also, I read "Between Shades of Gray" and I loved it, I even cried while reading it. One of my favorite books ever!
