I loved being at MTSU for the SE-YA Festival!
I decided to end "Salt to the Sea" the way I did in hopes that the reader might feel compelled to know more and research the time period and the sinking on their own. At the end I wanted the reader to have mixed feelings of love, hope, and loss.

As a teacher, I find the history of the Holocaust and important topic to cover. I have used your book Between Shades of Gray. I am wondering if you could please share some resources about Latvian Jews affected by the Holocaust that I could use with my high school students?
