(view spoiler)[I have read your book & I'm not kidding I fell apart when Lina's mom dies, she was such a image of kindness & utter love. And the epilogue HOW GREAT!!! I'd like to know if you're gonna make another book about this, I mean what happens when they go back to their country. And how Lina found Andrius, I'm craving. There is gonna be another book? (view spoiler)[Hello Albert!
Thank you for your message. Like you, I was so sad when I realized that Elena was going to die. Initially, I couldn't bring myself to write the scene so I skipped it and came back to it later.
In terms of another book, yes, my new book SALT TO THE SEA could be considered a companion novel to BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY because some of the characters play a role in the new book. It's not a sequel, but some questions are answered.
Thanks so much for your support and for reading my books!

Hello Ruta! I am a huge fan of your work! Between Shades of Grey is my absolute favourite book. In fact, I loved it so much I read it more than once! I'm so excited for it to hit the big screen! I know that you will be touring Canada some time in May 2016. I wanted to know if you will be coming to Toronto, Canada to do book signings? I would love to meet you in person! Thank you!

Hi Ruta! After reading "Out of the Easy", "Between Shades of Gray", and "Salt to the Sea", I've concluded that Emilia is by far my favorite historical fiction character EVER (though all your characters are spectacular). Her story is so powerful and heartwrenching to me. What inspired you to make her particular story/perspective one of the main focuses of "Salt to the Sea"? -Kylie
