BakaRena asked Jordan L. Hawk:

Hello! It was mentioned in Bloodline (and then in Harmony) that Griffin likes to read some adventure fiction and Whyborne doesn't seem to approve of it. I wondered if you had some specific books in mind. What does Griffin like to read about? And why Whyborne seems to be against it? Does Whyborne even read fiction?

Jordan L. Hawk Griffin likes to read dime novels--tales with lurid titles and even more lurid covers. (This Pinterest board has a lovely selection: https://www.pinterest.com/doodlebuglo...) It's briefly mentioned in Remnant that he reads Robert Caldwell's "Casebook of Simon Feximal" series. ;)

Griffin likes them because he finds them exciting and fun. Whyborne is just being a bit of a snob when he grouses about them rotting Griffin's brain.

I don't imagine between his duties at the museum and his sorcerous dealings that Whyborne has a lot of time to read for pleasure any more. Maybe Griffin should convince him to try a dime novel.
