How do you get inspired to write?

Virginia Heath It was something I always thought about. When I was little, I could never fall asleep quickly, so I made up little stories in my head to help pass the time while I was staring at the ceiling. I still do that- except now I plot each new chapter rather than a whole story. The older I got, the more I wanted to write them down. I kept telling my students (yes-I was a history teacher) 'One day I am going to write a book...' Except I never had the time. In one mad moment, I quit my job and thought, right! Enough dreaming- Just do it! And I did!
