Goodreads asked James H. Peterson III:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

James H. Peterson III I am not sure that I have ever really had writer's block before. I certainly have had exhaustion and frustration before that have prevented me from writing when I wanted to be writing, but that's not really the same thing. I have also had the trouble of not being able to clearly see my way through certain plot problems, but again, that is not the same thing either. In the first instance, sometimes life just gets in the way and you have to deal with it. In the second, plot problems, I usually just think of the relevant characters in a different situation and write about that for a while. Sometimes this bares the fruit of a short story and sometimes I just clears up the plot problem and I go back to the original work. So if I were to have something like writer's block, I think I would simply take my favourite Scions and see what I could do to them in the context of a short story and leave whatever I was blocked over alone for a few days.
