A dear friend who used to own a book store recommended you to me but I hadn't gotten started yet. George RR Martin and other fantasy writers had given you wonderful credit for creating a medieval world so I knew you must have street cred. Since November, I've devoured everything you've written (I think). Thank you and I would like some more. I hope you are feeling much better now. So what are you working on now?

I am sorry for taking so long to respond to these questions, FPerry, but you probably know (since you've posted on my Goodreads page) that I've been going through a rough patch; I have chronic back pain that flares up from time to time, I was amazed to discover that both Richard III and I suffered from scoliosis; my first thought upon learning this was, "Poor Richard, living in an age without chiropractors!"
Thank you so much for letting me know you enjoy my books. That sort of reader feedback means the world to writers. Our editors too often point out just the errors. :-) It is especially gratifying whenever I learn I have a new reader. Before the advent of the Internet, I did not have the opportunity to interact with my readers, but social media has made that so easy. I am working now on The Land Beyond the Sea, set in the kingdom of Jerusalem in the latter part of the 12th century. I fell behind my deadline because of that back pain flare up, but I am back on track now. If I can finish it by the end or the year. both my US and UK publishers will publish it in 2017.

As a lover of British history, and ability to trace my own to 1066, I decided to return to fiction from non-fiction for a time and the first thing I thought of was your works because I find them close to recorded history. How important is it to you to follow "real" history, since there can be many variations in what's recorded? Also, will you ever venture to Agincourt as a field of play? Thank you

I just finished reading Alison Weir's "Eleanor of Aquitaine: A Life", and I'm curious what your thoughts on it (I presume you've read it, but I can't find any books of yours on hand to see if you've included it in your references/etc). I found some of her positions interesting, especially concerning evidence or lack of evidence for particular things. Have you read it, and if so, what do you think?
