T. Coraghessan Boyle:
Excellent book, is "The Harder They Come", and I've recommended it widely. I have 2 questions: which of your novels do you recommend I read next, and do you think the personalities and psychological makeup of the characters in "The Harder ..." are informed by current times, or would they have been basically the same people in prior times?

Try Talk Talk. As for question B, I do believe the book addresses the contemporary scene vis a vis American gun violence, but of course, we do see its historical antecedents in John Colter (and Hugh Glass).
