T. Coraghessan Boyle:
Hello Mr. Boyle, I have read several of your books, and really liked most of them. However, the first one I read a long time ago, Water Music, is still my favourite. I read it loud with my wife (girl friend at that time), and we really had a lot of fun. Ever since, your books seem more "grown up", but also don't have quite the same level of creativity and humor. Can we expect another book like Water Music one day?

I can't say, Juergi. I just follow my muse. To my mind, The Women is pretty funny. And so are many of the short stories. Funny and wild, which is I think what you're asking for--that's what Water Music gives out.

I've never submitted a question to an author because I'm always afraid I won't be able to come up with something he or she hasn't been asked a thousand times before, but I just realized that gives rise to an answer I'd be interested in: how often do you get a question from a reader that is original or thought provoking? Can you repeat one for us, and how you answered it?
