I've never submitted a question to an author because I'm always afraid I won't be able to come up with something he or she hasn't been asked a thousand times before, but I just realized that gives rise to an answer I'd be interested in: how often do you get a question from a reader that is original or thought provoking? Can you repeat one for us, and how you answered it?

Clever question, Kristina. Which deserves a clever (wiseguy?) answer. The most original question from a reader, face to face at the bar, was this: single or double?

Hello Mr. Boyle, I am enjoying your short stories in Wild Child lately. A friend lent me Drop Zone awhile ago because he thought since I am from Alaska I would enjoy it. (I think it probably spoke more to him being of hippy parents and growing up in CA). Anyway, I don't have a question (?) , just thank you for being a writer and observer of the people and world around us. linda
