Susan
Susan asked T. Coraghessan Boyle:

What you said about trying to get into the head of a schizophrenic shooter leads to my question. It seems the more unique characters are, the more extreme the plot twists that their interactions engender. I have the sense that as much as you are getting into the heads of your characters, they must inhabit your head in a pretty dynamic way. Would you comment on your interior sturm und drang?

T. Coraghessan Boyle I like the way you approach this issue, Susan. As I have said, I am merely following the story to find out what it means. I discover Adam as I go along, each piece of the big jigsaw puzzle leaving room for the next. My sturm und drang happens only in the fever of composition. Otherwise, I am an innocent.
