How do you get inspired to write?

Sharon Coady I may look at a picture that suddenly stirs a story to life, Yesterday's Memories started from a picture I found of my father standing in front of his fireplace mantel, arm on the mantel near an old clock. Other times I don't know where the characters come from, with Broken Lies I was on the back of the Harley as we were riding back to Florida from Maryland and suddenly Niall was in my head telling me his story. I had to makes notes in my iPhone at every gas stop!
