My brother is reading this at 10 and doesn't really like it, it's to boring for it.
It doesn't have anything inappropriate, only some people die, and get killed, but never going into any gory detail or whatever, and it's always the "bad guys" or people that you didn't really know in the story.
The only thing that I say would be, is that it could be simply boring. The start for this book is kind of slow for readers who prefer more action-packed books, just like Harry Potter I guess.
It is also enjoyable for older readers though, as I am in the middle of reading this book again, and it's actually a fun read, just like a fluffy cuddly pie.
So I'd say depending on the reader, as it might be boring, but nothing inappropriate.(less)
