how long did it take you to write you book? and why did you chose to self publish?

It took me approximately two years (because I barely had any experience and there were other things that were going on.. :P) And I chose to Self-Publish because there would have been things I would have had to get done that took a lot more time and money, and I wanted to have full control over it.
