When I first read your Sevenwaters Trilogy (at that time it was only 3) I loved the fairy tale inspiration used; whilst the novel still told it's own story in it's own way. There has recently been a surge of fairy tale 're-tellings' for Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, & others. I'm wondering if you were to pick another Grimm fairy tale to use for a basis of a story, like you did with Six Swans, what would it be?

Interesting question! I have already written a novel based on Beauty and the Beast (Heart's Blood) and a novel based on The Twelve Dancing Princesses/The Frog Prince (Wildwood Dancing.) There's also a Grimm's fairy tale behind Dreamer's Pool, though I leave it to readers to work out which one. So I've already used a lot of my favourites. How about The Tinder Box? It has quite interesting moral choices. And dogs!

Hi Mrs. Marillier! :) I loved your Sevenwaters and Blackthorn & Grim series so much that you have inspired me to write my own historical fantasy. I just want your opinion, as a reader, does combining too many references oversaturate my plot/make it unoriginal, even if I make connect them well? It combines the black death, astral projection, Celtic references, Arthurian lore, and references the song "Scarborough Fair".

Hi Juliet! I've just finished reading Tower of Thorns and am absolutely loving the Blackthorn and Grim series! They're starting to become one of my favourite characters from your books, and I never thought I'd like anyone better than Sorcha and Red! I had a question regarding Den of Wolves: has it been released in paperback yet? Had a look to buy it online in the UK but can only seem to find the hardback version.
