Grace Burrowes I might not understand the question, but at the beginning of Andrew's book, Gareth and Felicity already have a couple of heirs with more on the way. Andrew is overwhelmingly relieved to meet his nephews, the oldest of whom could eventually become the earl if Andrew has no sons. At last count, Andrew would have to outlive three nephews (maybe more by Trenton's book), to inherit the marquessate, and I certainly don't plan to inflict that outcome on the guy. (Astrid would never forgive me!)
