Pam _P who cusses A Lot
Pam _P who cusses A Lot asked Grace Burrowes:

Hello! I've tried to figure this out for myself, but I'm stumped.... When and where was Max Haddonfield discovered? Having read Nicholas, Thomas, Matthew, and then the True Gentleman and now "Love and other perils", where did Max come from? He's not listed in Nicholas 's book at the death of his father and Ethan was an acknowledged son, so I'm curious. Which book is he discovered in? Thank you for your writing!

Grace Burrowes Max is Adolphus. There's this little exchange between Max and Antonia:

“Mr. Haddonfield, you have me in a state.”
“Max.”
She leaned her forehead against his shoulder. “Short for Maximillian?”
“Maximus, a deuced poor jest on a fellow with seven older siblings. I used a middle name growing up because my elders could not resist making sport of my first name.” He stroked her nape, loving the combination of textures there. Warm, soft skin. Silky tresses. Delicate lace edging her collar....

I should have spelled it out, because you are not the first reader to ask, "Who he?" I wanted to use Max because it reminded me of the Grinch's dog, and because Adolphus never stuck me as particularly heroic. I didn't expect him to ever have a book, which was poor planning on my part.
