Oh dear, that's a hard question! Well, I think it was probably getting the pacing right. I'm so aware that people's reading habits have changed. When I read on my phone (which I do all the time, in the subway on the way to work), a book needs to keep my attention. If the plot wanders off, I close that book and I never get back to it. My phone is a graveyard of loosely woven plots. So I was determined to keep the pace of My American Duchess rattling along, hopefully creating a book that readers didn't want to put down. That led to a lot of deletion... definitely a hard part of editing!

Hi Eloisa...I am reading and enjoying My American Duchess now....your answer in a previous question about your daughter reading The Fault in Outr Stars...does your daughter influence your heroines at all? Especially being that American living in London....I would imagine she offers interesting perspectives on being young and having these wonderful experiences....
