Chelsea asked Eloisa James:

I've always wondered whether, as an author developing characters, you have ever thought, "Wow, I love this quality in her/him. I wouldn't mind being more like this character myself." Or are there some moments where you might enjoy a quality you already have and think, "This character needs to be independent, adventuresome, etc. like me!" ???

Eloisa James The truth is that every heroine, in particular, needs to have a part of her come from the author (in my opinion), or she doesn't ring true. I've taken little bits of my personality or experiences that happened to me, and turned them into whole books. What I do is think about that tiny trait -- and then turn it into a much larger facet of the heroine's character. Generally, they turn out to be much nicer than me so yes, I definitely wouldn't mind being more like my heroines!!
