Hi. I love your Psy/Changling series and I've heard rumour that, at some point in the future, you might be writing a YA series with the younger characters. Is this true?
Nalini Singh
No. :) I intend to continue to write about the younger characters within the larger storyline. So, for example, you see a bit of Jonquil (Jon) in ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR, see how he's growing and changing. I don't like to think of separating out the younger adults from the main cast, because I feel like they're so interconnected and all their stories intertwine and they all impact each other.
However, I may do short stories featuring the younger characters, to explore things close to their heart. I recently did a Guild Hunter short story featuring a young teenage girl named Talu. It's called "A Small Fairytale" and if you missed it, just subscribe to my newsletter and the Welcome newsletter has links to all the previous short stories).
So I like doing things like that, where we zoom in on a moment or a short period of time where we can be in the younger character's point of view. But when it comes to full length books, I want the entire cast there. They're a family, whether by blood or choice, and I want to honor those bonds.

Hi Nalini, I was wondering if you've ever written a character you planned to just be a small, background player and then they turned around and demanded to be the star of their own story? And the Bishop brothers don't count. Because no one can ignore rugby players. ;-)

My friend all but shoved your Psy-Changelings into my hands and I have devoured them all and I love them! Someone has already asked about LGBT characters (which I would love) and my question is related: From one or two tiny mentions on the side (mostly in Kiss of Snow), I got the impression that SnowDancer wolves Inez and Simran may be a lesbian couple. Can you confirm this and will we ever get their story?
