Robin asked Christine Feehan:

This question contains spoilers… (view spoiler)

Christine Feehan I've always had sex in my books. The sex isn't there just to be there, it is part of the story of the couple. I try to show their conflict, their struggle and their growth as well as showing their love through intimacy.

A lot of my heroes are dark, edgy men who fight their own inner demons. Sometimes they use sex to control, sometimes to show dominance, and sometimes to show they care. What I try to get across is that, by the end of the story, they have found love on every level of their relationship, including sex.

Some people are okay with reading a lot of sex, or more erotic sex, some people prefer love making and more romantic sex. There is no right or wrong in that. It's a preference. I want my readers to enjoy the overall story, but I realize not everyone likes every story and for a variety of reasons. So, I try to give variety throughout my different series. I hope this helps readers find stories and characters they can relate to and fall in love with.

If one book doesn't work for a reader, I hope they will enjoy the next one. Like any other author I try to evolve and grow my craft, expand my own boundaries to reach new places.

Reader feedback is important to me because my readers are important to me. I continue to endeavor to write the story of my heart each and every time and hope readers will take the journey with me each time.

I'm not sure that exactly answers your question, but I hope it addresses some of your concerns.
