Goodreads asked Heather Smith Meloche:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Heather Smith Meloche Don't give up. It takes a long, long, long, long time, usually, for a writer to get published traditionally. Now, with self-publishing, it is easier to get a book in front of readers, but to gain readership, a writer needs to continue to work on the craft, go to conferences, network, read about the industry on Publisher's Weekly or other sites to keep up with trends and sales. But if you love writing and you believe in your stories and your characters and your work, then you keep on keeping on! And eventually, you get the little successes that, hopefully, turn into larger ones.
